MAVS is time for a change and let it heal KP frustrations and complexes elsewhere. He is the biggest disappointment of the playoffs. And 1000 reasons for his disastrous performances. JB had more rebounds than him. How many blocks in 7 games? KP watch Rudi Gobert and learn the heartily game from him and many more real good players in NBA.

The problem was Rick not Porzingis, he didn't adjust the team strategy by much. He didn't make changes to get Porzingis involved. Just let Luka dribble shoot and dribble more. It's been that way for 10 years by the way. He doesn't get Kleber or DoDo to score inside. He doesn't command his centers or front court to stick around and fight for rebounds. Most of the Mavs acts like every shot of theirs is going in or the other team will get it automatically. I think the coaches neglects the inside then out game.

Next season is arguably the 1st time KP will be coming in pre season healthy. Mavs should be patient with him. I think he and Luka can still work.

Exactly. This and the last season can hardly be called normal. last year with the stoppage of the season and the bubble and this one with an unusual start and C19 impact. So, yes, the net season will hopefully be the first proper one for KP as a Mav. I also believe that it can work and the next season should serve as a true indication of where things are. And hopefully, C19 does not mutate and strike us all again.

It can work. He need to be a 4, not a 5. He needs the confidence and support from the Mavs front office and fans.

@Sterling Gafford selfish, headcase, sense, personality, fit, chemistry, create, narrative, value, classy, weak, character. Those are all words you use to describe... uh "PZ". Quite frankly it's just slander and great for headlines to say all that. But that's another topic. Anyways, that's not what matters on the court and for wins. It's about getting the ball in the hoop. At this point Porzingis doesn't need to prove that he can do that, we know he can. So why is it not happening? Coaching and strategy. I've watched at minimum 40 of the games this season from beginning to end. Carlisle's does not have a viable scheme or strategy that utilized Porzingis AND anyone else other than Luka. NO OTHER PLAYER ON THE ROSTER can gather momentum or consistency. How? It was get Luka the ball everybody else be ready if he passes it to you. that's how. That's not championship... no... playoff... no... NBA caliber coaching. I've been watching Mavs for over half of their franchise existence. I can see clearly that Carlisle is a sneakily overrated coach. You can't change my mind. Porzingis is a great player who knows his capabilities and potential and sees Luka getting excessive usage.

@Inkosi Owtlaw 6 PZ has proved to be a selfish headcase. Donnie, Mark and Rick all have a keen sense for when personalities don't fit the (championship) team chemistry Rick is trying create, and they keep a positive narrative in the media to hold trade vale for assets (Dennis Smith, PZ) while communicating to players they would want around the league that they are a "classy, good" team to be on. PZ is weak. In every sense of the word. Donnie may give him one more year- or even half a season before the deadline to let him play great, if he can, and then ship him. They see his character. He's gone.

first offseason in while, where he can work out. And KP has legendary work ethic. 10 times bigger than Luka. And finnaly he is healty after season in while. U will see different beast next season. Question is, in what team? And if Luka is ready to share spotlight, bcz only bias fans did not see what KP mean with motion moving ball. Luka is that one, who are scared to give smth to KP from fame, not KP. Team over stat padding ... but he is scapegoat for everyone.

    KP - FG 47.6% 3pts 37.6%.
    Luka - FG 47.9% 3pts 35.0%
    THJ - FG 44.7% 3pts 39.1%
How ya`ll gonna ignore these stats?! Its all about the amount of shots taken. IF Kp would shoot 37 shots he would score 40+ If THJ would take 37 shots he also would score 40+ points... though THJ has had 0/12 games KP has never had games THAT bad, he always finds a way to bust the drought. My point is - How exactly has KPs season been bad? 20pts 8 rebs isnt amazing but he is shooting the ball just as good as Luka - the difference is only ONLY shots attempted. And If KP wanted he could get more rebounds - but if you actually watch games you would see that KP often boxes out the guards who attack the rim, and if they miss - Luka grabs the board instead of KP. You think Luka is literally OVERJUMPING KP to grab more rebs?!?! Its pointless to collect the reb for KP if its a 100% Mavs ball anyways. Big man catch - big man find point guard - big man pass ball. Thats cave man thinking. You can start fast breaks sooner if your PG gets the ball first.

Great take, Luka's usage rate is high. Point blank, that's why his numbers are of the charts. Carlisle doesn't really get the most out of anybody but Luka. To me that's a coaching error. How is it that no other player can gain consistency. The answer is the ball is always in Luka's hands and when it leaves his hands it goes back to his hands. I like the guys game but we are too dependent on him unfortunately. And Porzingis knows this.

"I'll sacrifice and adjust" - I don't think it's about that. In today's NBA you would not be paid the max for the skills you currently have. It's about adapting or being out of the league, if you don't defend (almost unplayable against Steph and Dame for example), rebound, and are not able to punish smaller guys in the playoffs. The league is moving to fast paced small ball with a lot of shooting. You weren't a good shooter this year, nor did you move well enough to defend these smaller fast guys. It's really about your own future now.

      Pred 4 dnevi

Enough, Luka is not defending at all. 1-2 episodes in game dont count. why Kp all game need to run out to 2 free 3p shooters, one of them is guarded by THJ and other by Doncic. 7footer is guarding 3p line.... WTFFFFF, and he is blame for not getting rebs, and deff. While small guards is not even trying ... Luka is waiting to get rebound, instead of playing defense.

what are you basing the - not a good shooter on ? KP - FG 47.6% 3pts 37.6%. Luka - FG 47.9% 3pts 35.0% Are you saying Luka is also a bad shooter?!?!?!? #factchecked.

@Karam whether he does good or not is not a priority here. Dallas needs much better teammates like better center and shooters, and it’s really hard to Enhance the team when Porzingis takes up nearly 40 percent of the Dallas’ salary cap. He’s existence is like a ticking timebomb

      Pred 4 dnevi

@Avien Cloud He really never had a full season to really adjust. After recovering from injury he had to go straight into playing. No training camp and no way of working on his game. That's why he was so much better in the bubble. That time off and leading into the bubble was like an extra season for him. The 2021-2022 season will be telling. Especially for him and for the Mavericks.
